Welcome back to our B-Side Rituals Spotlight series!

This month, we’re highlighting Los Angeles-born and raised artist Diva Smith, who is now based in New York. Describing her sound as “therapy pop” and indie pop, Diva creates music that blends introspective lyricism with dreamy, emotionally rich production.

She made her debut on February 28, 2025, with the single “Better In Heaven”. Following her debut, she released “Put Back Together A Friend” on March 28, 2025, and “I Can See In The Dark” on May 2, 2025.

In 2026 she released “Sunny Surrender” on April 3 and “2 Step” on May 8. Both these singles were pre-release tracks for her debut EP, Sunny Surrender, which was released on June 12, 2026.

We first discovered Diva earlier this week when one of her songs came on during a Spotify Radio shuffle, and instantly found ourselves drawn to her heartfelt songwriting and warm indie-pop sound. Coincidentally, she also spent the week opening for Holly Humberstone in Minneapolis and Chicago, introducing her music to even more listeners ahead of her debut EP release.
