Welcome to B-Side Rituals, a Toronto & UK-based community that discovers hidden gems, uplifts independent artists, and invites fans to celebrate and engage with the sounds beyond the mainstream. B-Side Rituals is named as a nod to the B-side of a vinyl record or the lesser-known songs on a CD, just like our blog, we shine a spotlight on artists and tracks that often go unheard, giving them a platform to be discovered.
We are passionate about connecting audiences with the artists and music that often go unheard, creating a space for authentic storytelling and musical discovery.
B-Side Rituals strives to be the most inclusive music organization, particularly by elevating smaller and BIPOC artists. Recognizing the challenges of starting out in the industry, we aim to provide support and assistance to emerging talents on their journey.

Through editorial content, live showcases, and community engagement, we foster a vibrant network of artists, fans, and music lovers who explore and celebrate music together.
Our Story
B-Side Rituals began its journey in November 2022 as Behind The Beat, created by Brenessa Roach to share music discoveries and grow as a music journalist. It later evolved into Beyond The Beat, expanding its focus to spotlight emerging artists and foster community within the independent music scene.
Today, as B-Side Rituals, the platform continues this mission — celebrating the B-sides, the hidden gems, and the artists who move beyond the mainstream. Solely operated by Brenessa, B-Side Rituals is a hub for editorial storytelling, music discovery, and live showcases, supporting artists and fostering a global music community

Exclusive Interviews: In-depth conversations with artists provide an inside look at their artistry and careers.
Press Coverage: From new music releases to live events, we cover the stories that matter, including trending artists or international music scenes.
Community Engagement: Our Instagram and Discord communities connect music enthusiasts, creating a space to discover, discuss, and celebrate incredible talent.
Artist Services: We offer tailored support including EPK creation, press releases, consultations, concert/event photography, and paid coverage for albums, EPs, and singles — designed to help independent artists thrive.
Showcases: B-Side Rituals has produced three live showcases in Toronto, bringing together crowds of 80+ attendees across all events. These showcases highlight emerging and independent artists, giving them a platform to perform and connect with new audiences in a vibrant, community-driven setting.
