Welcome to Country Currents, our new series spotlighting the most exciting voices in country and folk. Each edition highlights artists with under 200K monthly listeners and this week, we’re putting six standout female talents on your radar. Let’s get started.

Rianne Downey is a Scottish singer and songwriter from Glasgow. She made her debut on September 23, 2021, with her EP, *Fuel To The Flame.* In 2023, she followed up with two additional EPs: Come What May in February and Method To My Madness in June. On August 23, 20924, she featured on Paul Heaton’s single “Quicksand” which has since become her most-streamed track with over 620K plays on Spotify.

In 2025, she released a few singles leading up to her debut full-length album, The Consequence Of Love, which released on October 17, 2025. Looking ahead to 2026, she has several shows lined up in support of the project and we’re hoping to catch her at her London date.

Phia Moore - COUNTRY CURRENTS PT. 1

Phia Moore is a Country/Folk singer and songwriter from Long Beach California. She made her debut on October 11, 2022 with the single “Inside Joke”. on June 23, 2023, she released “when the candles are mine” which was a pre-release track for her debut EP group therapy, released on September 22, 2023.

Phia took a break from releasing music in 2024, but came back in 2025 with a few singles before releasing her sophomore EP *what color is your monster?,* released on November 21, 2025.

Jade Hilton - COUNTRY CURRENTS PT. 1

Jade Hilton is a Chinese–English singer-songwriter from Toronto, Canada. She made her debut on March 5, 2018 with the single “This Town” featuring Cole Brandt. We first discovered her in 2022 after coming across her 2020 single “I Would” on Spotify. She released her debut album Unrequited on April 8, 2022, followed by a handful of singles in 2023 before taking a release break in 2024.

Jade returned on May 16, 2025 with “Dive Bar,” our favourite track of hers to date, showcasing noticeable growth and refinement in her sound. She’s also been performing frequently throughout the year, continuing to build momentum.

Kayla Wright - COUNTRY CURRENTS PT. 1

Current monthly listeners: 52

Kayla Wright is a country-pop singer from a small town just outside Chicago, Illinois. She made her debut on October 24 with her first single, “Settle Down.” Though it’s her very first release, it immediately caught our attention and it’s a show that showcases real potential and a fresh voice we’re excited to follow as her journey unfolds.

Jeorgia Rose - COUNTRY CURRENTS PT. 1

Jeorgia Rose is a British singer-songwriter who debuted on December 11, 2020 with her single “I Will Still Remember.” After taking a release break in 2022, she returned in 2023 with a bunch of singles that ultimately led to her debut album Blooming, released on September 26, 2024, followed by a deluxe edition on June 19, 2025.

Her latest single, “a man like you,” dropped on November 27. We love Jeorgia’s sound and are excited to see what she brings in 2026.

Jordana Bryant - COUNTRY CURRENTS PT. 1

Current monthly listeners: 196.8K

Jordana Bryant is a singer-songwriter from a small town in Pennsylvania who debuted on July 8, 2021, with the single “The Good Ones.” On June 24, 2022, she released “New Friends,” her most-streamed track to date with over 5.3 million streams. Her self-titled debut EP, Jordana Bryant, arrived on April 21, 2023.

Jordana has consistently released music over the years, including her second EP, Right Key, Wrong Porch,, on March 14, 2025, followed by her latest release, a cover of Alex Warren’s “Ordinary.”
